Recently, a Harris County jury sentenced a man to 55 years in prison because of a wrongful death drunk driving accident. The middle-age man, in effect received a life sentence. He didn’t set out to kill anyone, he didn’t use a gun or knife and his intent was simply the choice he made to drive while intoxicated.

Unfortunately for the family of the victim, and for the drunk driver the situation turned out terribly tragic for everyone. The family of the victim will never have their loved one he is been taken from them. The only consolation that they may find is that this drunk driver will not take to streets again probably ever.

For the family of the drunk driver, the only time that they will see their loved one again is visiting day at the prison. For with this sentence, the drunk driver has for all practical purposes, lost his family as well–or they have lost him.

This is only one example of the consequences of a drunk driving accident. DWI can you afford it?
